What is the main power source?
Twelve (12) volt lead acid deep draw marine battery.

Can I run six (6) volt spinning wing decoys or other six (6) volt decoys on a twelve (12) volt system?
Yes when you turn the speed control up or down you vary the voltage supply from 0% setting (2 volts)
to a 100% setting (12 volts). A 6 volt motor will run fine at 12 volts, but much faster than normal.

How does it work?
Each channel will control:
- on/off
- speed - 10%-100% of any 6 volt to 12 volt motorized decoy or decoys
- on time - 0.5 seconds to 16 seconds
- off time - 0.5 seconds to 16 seconds

NOTE: Our 6 channel and 4 channel panels have a master on/off switch to control all decoys at once, as well as individual channel switches.

How many decoys can it control?
Basically, 4 decoys per channel, of the spinning wing/duck butt category.
- 6 channel unit can control 24 decoys
- 4 channel unit can control 16 decoys
The mallard machine decoy should be connected to channel 2, which is the strongest output.

What type of motorized decoys can it control?
Any 6 volt to 12 volt DC motorized decoy device.

What is the maximum amperage ratings?

- 6 channel unit - fused protected at 30 amps, maximum operating for entire panel: 25 amps
- 4 channel unit - fused protected at 30 amps, maximum operating for entire panel: 20 amps

NOTE: Any channel on all units can handle up to 7 amps max.  Channel 2 is preferred for decoy systems such as the Mallard Machine.

How is it installed?
Here are the steps:

1. Mount controller to anything stationary with 4 screws, bolts or nails. Wall mounting is preferred.
2. Connect furnished battery terminals on controller to 12 volt battery power source.
3. Run a 2-conductor  low voltage cable to each device and connect other end to terminals on controller.

What tools do I need to complete the electrical wiring to the controller?

A pocket knife or wire stripper. Pliers are not necessary.

What are the advantages of this controller?
-
A single power source. No more challenges with smaller batteries that only last a few hours at most.
- Extended operating time. Can continuous run 6 spinning wing decoys 3 days and nights on one fully charged 12-volt marine battery. Controller utilizing pulse width modulation technology.
- Realistic motion. Makes multiple decoys come alive with more realistic motion, with different speeds and different on-off times.
- Easy to operate. Master switch on the 4 channel and 6 channel units can immediately turn the entire motorized spread on and off..  Each channel can be turned on and off independently as well.
- Dependability. Built using industrial grade design and parts for years of reliable operation. Totally encased in epoxy for protection from the elements.

  • Designed in the USA. Manufactured in the USA.
  • Tested in the USA. Shipped in the USA.

What type of wire is needed to hook-up decoys?
Low voltage landscape cable available at Lowes or Home Depot, or your local hardware store.
Recommended: 16/14 gauge for runs up to 100 feet and 12/14 gauge for runs greater than 100 feet.

Can I use different types of decoys on the same channel?
Yes, as long as any single channel total amperage does not exceed 7 amps.
The Mallard Machine decoy system should be connected to channel 2, which has the greatest power ability.

Is it waterproof?

It is housed in a heavy plastic box and encased with epoxy. All switches and variable controls have O-ring seals. It is highly resistant to rain. However, we do not recommend constant exposure to water.

Where is the best place to install this controller?

Mounted on a wall, sheltered from rain, within easy reach of the decoy operator is preferred. All wiring should be tucked back from interference with the hunter. A tie-off bar is provided at the bottom of the controller for strain relief of wiring connections.

My water pump decoys don't spray as high as they used to. What's wrong?

Pumps usually have a preferred direction of rotation. Probably the electrical polarity to the pump motor is reversed. Swapping position (polarity) of the two wires that power the pump motor should make a difference. Also check for trash in the pump.
